Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Vikrant University ERP ("the App"), developed and maintained by Vikrant Group of Institutions, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Android application.

By using this App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

The App collects only the minimum information necessary to provide services:

• Login credentials — username and password entered by the user to access the ERP portal
• Device token — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for sending push notifications
• Usage data — pages visited within the ERP web portal (handled by the web server, not stored locally)
• Notification data — notification titles and messages stored locally on the device for the inbox feature

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate and provide access to the Vikrant University ERP portal
• To send push notifications about results, fees, events, and university alerts
• To display a notification inbox within the app
• To improve app performance and fix technical issues

Data Storage

All notification data is stored locally on your device only using Android SharedPreferences. We do not upload notification history to any external server.

Login sessions are managed entirely by the ERP web server (erp.vikrantuniversity.ac.in) and follow the university's existing web security standards.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — used to deliver push notifications. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• Firebase Analytics (Google) — used for basic app usage analytics (anonymous, aggregated data only)

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to any third parties. Data is only shared with Google Firebase for the purpose of push notifications as described above.

Data Security

All communication between the App and the ERP server uses HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption). We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

Children's Privacy

This App is intended for use by enrolled students (18 years and above) and authorized staff of Vikrant University only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Permissions Used

• INTERNET — required to load the ERP portal
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to check internet connectivity
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to display push notifications (Android 13+)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and data by contacting the university IT department
• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings at any time
• Clear your local notification inbox within the app

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
