Constitution Day Celebration at Vikrant University: A Tribute to India’s Democratic Spirit

Honouring the Spirit of the Constitution

The School of Legal Studies at Vikrant University, Gwalior, celebrated Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) on November 26, 2025 with enthusiasm, pride and devotion to India. It demonstrated the commitment of the University to promote responsible citizens that respect, understand and uphold the principles which guide our country as set forth in its constitution. It was an exciting day for all students who attended and an opportunity to celebrate the heritage of one of the most visionary constitutions in the world.

A Unified Recitation of the Preamble

To commence the celebration, all students from the various schools of Vikrant University joined together in a group recitation of the Constitution's Preamble. By reciting together, they unified themselves, and created a powerful reminder of the four principal tenets laid down in the Constitution of India that will create an opportunity to achieve a better India for all people: Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. The collective voice of the younger generation reciting the Preamble at the beginning of the celebration and their demonstration of taking ownership of the Constitution's tenets is inspiring to all involved in creating the world's future.

Engaging Quiz Competitions to Deepen Constitutional Awareness

To promote a greater understanding of the Constitution by all students, both Online and Offline Competition were conducted in order to assist students in understanding the Constitution. The National Quiz was part of a Government of India Initiative and provided students with an opportunity to be a part of a larger learning community. The offline Quiz provided an avenue for friendly competition on campus, while at the same time, promoting team building, quicker responses to questions, and learning the principles of the Constitution more effectively through competition. Ultimately, they engaged students in the process of connecting with the Constitution in an hands on manner.

Creative Expression Through Poster Making

The Poster Making Competition was one of the most memorable parts of the commemoration. Students used their creativity and their understanding of constitutional rights and duties as well as the vision of the founding leaders of India, to create visually appealing posters. As each poster was displayed, it led to meaningful conversations about how much work goes into and the thought process that goes behind making a poster about an important national topic. All of the students were able to see a video of the steps taken to create the Indian Constitution and to understand the hard work that went into creating the Constitution by its drafting committee and what that document meant in the country’s history.

Guidance and Appreciation from Distinguished Guests
Mr. G.S. Dubey, Dr. Vir Narayan and other dignitaries joined for this wonderful occasion. They participated in the Poster Making Competition as judges and provided the students  with some very valuable feedback and inspired them during the event. They encouraged all of the students to continue to pursue their quest to learn about India's Constitution with enthusiasm and an innovative mind.

A Celebration of Learning, Responsibility, and National Pride
