The University Sports Board plays a vital role at Vikrant University, Gwalior, overseeing and coordinating sports activities across various units of the university. It identifies and trains athletes in different sports, preparing them to compete in Inter-University Tournaments organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. In addition, university teams actively participate in tournaments conducted by various sports organizations.

The University Sports Board, in its present form, was established in 2025 as part of the university’s initiative to strengthen its athletics program. Its primary goals include fostering sportsmanship and teamwork among students, organizing recognized sports events, encouraging inter-university camaraderie through competitions, and extending support to all constituent units.

To further enhance the skills of student-athletes, the board collaborates with the Director of Physical Education and a team of experienced sports coaches to conduct training sessions and coaching camps for university teams.
