Introduction to AI Cell
AI Cell at Vikrant University is an inter-disciplinary platform to enhance understanding and creativity in Artificial Intelligence (AI) through research and skill development. The AI Cell supports students and faculty from varying academic backgrounds, providing an innovative and exciting environment to investigate the ways in which artificial intelligence and emerging technology will change and enhance our world.
AI will impact every aspect of business, government, education, health care, agriculture and society. The AI Cell will foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and innovation through workshops, seminars and industry involvement; providing students with a comprehensive understanding of how to utilize Artificial Intelligence for their own education and career growth, and to improve society.
As we are witnessing technological advances that are changing all sectors of our economy and society, the AI Cell is dedicated to developing future leaders and problem solvers committed to being responsible innovators in the era of intelligent systems.
Why AI Cell was established
In todayβs world, Artificial Intelligence is not just a concept in Computer Science; it is a catalyst for change in all fields and professions. With this rapid growth of technology, to better prepare students at Vikrant University for these changes, Vikrant University created an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cell as an interdisciplinary platform for learning and innovation.
The AI Cell was created with the following objectives:
- To create awareness about Artificial Intelligence, its use and applications in various fields
- To give students an opportunity to acquire real-world practical experience and develop their skillsets to provide them with industry-relevant competencies.
- To stimulate creativity, research and problem-solving using technology-based approaches.
- To create opportunities for collaborative opportunities among the students and faculty across all academic disciplines.
- To address the gap between academic education and developing industrial needs.
- To promote the ethical, responsible and sustainable use of Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of the society.
These initiatives help the AI Cell develop the future leaders, innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs who will add value to the present AI-based world.
Multidisciplinary Nature of the AI Cell
AI Cell believes that Artificial Intelligence is not limited to any particular field. Modern problems require a combination of the technical know-how of the technology world, as well as knowledge from all the other areas of expertise. Given this reality, AI Cell has developed as a multi-disciplinary platform and welcomes participants from every school and department at Vikrant University. such as Engineering and Technology, Computer Applications, Management and Commerce, Legal Studies, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmacy and many more.
The diversity allows members to share ideas between disciplines creating a forum for a greater range of perspectives, thus facilitating innovative thought. By using a Multi-Disciplinary Structure, members are able to create an understanding of how AI can be used across a range of industries, including smart agriculture; business analytics; legal technology; innovations in healthcare; transformation of the educational process; and sustainable development. By bringing together such varied education and skills within AI Cell, it offers members the opportunity for holistic learning and collaborative innovation.
Collaboration across Schools
The AI Cell, by being able to connect members of different schools together with an overarching goal related to both technology & innovation, is one of the key features of the Cell. Additionally, the Cell will provide the ability to collaborate on collaborative ventures through a combination of all disciplines within the university. Thus, it could be said that all members of the university can participate on various projects, events and also research based knowledge share together regardless of their specific discipline.
By creating collaborative efforts across all students from all disciplines, students have an opportunity to learn from one another, develop teamwork skills, and be exposed to different perspectives as they relate to the various disciplines outside of their own. Engineering students provide technical knowledge and expertise; management students provide strategic thought; legal studies students provide insights into ethical and regulatory compliance; agriculture students provide knowledge of the agriculture domain and commerce students provide an understanding of business.
The development of these types of collaborative projects and events will not only enhance the educational experience but will provide opportunities for students to develop practical solutions to achieve their goals through the creation of solutions that are relevant and sustainable, while positively impacting the community. Furthermore, the establishment of a culture of collaboration between different schools within the university will further demonstrate the university's commitment to innovative, inclusive, and excellent educational experiences.

AI Cell has an objective of building an inclusive ecosystem for learners from different academic backgrounds who come together to create and implement solutions to real-world problems through innovative technologies and to believe in establishing a case study for a learning culture through an ongoing commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. This will position future professionals with both the knowledge and skills as well as the ethical framework necessary for the digital age.
Mission
The mission of AI Cell is to create opportunities for education, collaboration and innovative works in the area of Artificial Intelligence through the engagement of students and faculty members from multiple disciplines. The AI Cell aspires to:
- Increase knowledge and understanding of AI and its applications through awareness creation in all types of academic fields.
- Provide opportunity for participation in workshops, seminars, expert talks, training programs and other experiences that increase AI literacy and technical knowledge.
- Encourage multi-disciplinary collaboration between students and faculty from various colleges and departments at the university.
- Contribute toward innovation-oriented projects, research and offering practical solutions through the application of AI and related technologies.
- Encourage interaction with industry experts and researchers, entrepreneurs and professionals in the area of technology in order to facilitate the transference of knowledge and ideas between academic and industrial communities.
- Provide a venue for students to have hands on experience with new technologies, develop skills necessary for the future and create professional skills.
- Encourage the ethical, responsible and sustainable use of AI within society.
- To create an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork and lifelong learning.
Through these opportunities and experiences offered by the AI Cell, members will be able to be innovators, use technology in a responsible manner and contribute to advances in knowledge and society.

Our Team
Leadership Team
The Faculty Leadership Team provides strategic direction for the successful operation of the Artificial Intelligence Cell (AI Cell) through the vision, guidance and collaborative actions of academic leaders; who serve as mentors and coordinators, engage in effective planning, coordination, mentorship and execution of activities that will foster the development of Artificial Intelligence as well as cross-disciplinary studies and promote advancements in technology throughout the university. The Faculty Leadership Team is responsible for providing direction, support and mentorship; while the Student Leadership Team is responsible for driving engagement and overseeing initiatives that create opportunities for active involvement of the members.
The Faculty Leadership Team and Student Leadership Team work together to develop an innovative and collaborative environment that fosters innovation, teamwork and continuous improvement.

The AI Cell coordinates and takes part in many different types of events, including academic, technical, and awareness-based events throughout the year. These events are designed to increase our knowledge and understanding of AI by enhancing AI literacy and developing innovation; connecting researchers from various disciplines; and providing experience with new technologies.
