IKS Research & Innovation Center

Students, faculties and academic leaders successfully gathered on July 16, 2026 in Ashoka Hall of Vikrant University, Gwalior to exchange ideas on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).

The purpose of the event was to create awareness about NEP 2020’s vision of integrating indigenous knowledge systems in higher education and to inspire participants to recognize and use the Indian traditions in tackling world problems. Prof. Nitin Raghunath Karmalkar, the former Vice-chancellor of the Savitribai Phule Pune University, acted as chief guest of the event. In his speech, he stressed the need to conserve and promote Indian ancient knowledge traditions as this would lead to the development of innovation, ethical leadership, sustainable development, and holistic education.

The guest of honour for the event Mr. Dheerendra Bhadouria, the State Coordinator of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, expressed his views on the brief history of the Indian Knowledge System in the field of culture, philosophy, and education. He also encouraged students to appreciate and celebrate their rich heritage as a contribution to knowledge, values, and innovations.

IKS Research & Innovation Centre, Vikrant University, Gwalior organized two student-centric activities, Poster Making Competition and Essay Writing Competition On the occasion of Akshay Urja Divas, The motive of this event is to create awareness in the fields of renewable energy, energy conservation, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
