From 5–8 August 2025, the newest students of the university’s Gwalior campus participated in Deeksharambh 2025 — a four-day orientation and induction programme to ensure that new students become acquainted with campus life, academics, professional opportunities and the University ethical framework. Throughout the programme, students participated in an expert talk, departmental introduction, industry exposure, alumni engagement, cultural activities, and a spiritually uplifting Sundarkand Path that culminated the experience.
Inaugural Ceremony & Felicitations
Deeksharambh commenced with a wonderful and encouraging inaugural session. The eminent dignitaries gracing the occasion inspired and motivated all the participants right from the word go! The chief guest at this gathering to inaugurate Deeksharambh was Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava (Retd. IAS), Chairman & Administrative Member (GRA), Narmada Valley Development Authority Bhopal, and the guest of honour was Mr. Rajesh Chhabra, Director — Plant Operations, Mondelez India Foods Private. Ltd. Recognising academic excellence, the University also conducted a Felicitation Ceremony as part of the inaugural session to honour the best from the previous session and to encourage the new batch of students and faculty to aspire for excellence right from the starting block!

School of Engineering — Innovation, Values & Career Readiness
The School of Engineering integrated technical orientation with sessions that covered personal development and civic awareness. Students toured contemporary labs and project spaces and participated in a changing line-up of invited, team talks, and interactive sessions such as:
1. Awareness Program on Start-ups by Mr. Hemant Sharma, Co-Founder, VNurt Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
2. Motivational Lecture on Stress Management & Self -Identification by Mr. Dharmendra Khyati Sengar.
3. Lecture on Law & Order in Daily Life by Mr. G. S. Dubey, Retd. Principal District Judge.
4. Key Value Session “Safalta Ki Dagar” by Mr. Pankaj Nafde.
5. Alumni Interaction with Er Kirti Shrivas, Er Ashutosh Shrivastava and Er. Himanchali Mishra
These sessions were designed to not only provide engineering students with a technical orientation but also with soft-skills, legal awareness and career direction.
School of Pharmacy – Industry and Practical Orientation
The School of Pharmacy provided students with exposure to the research, regulatory and clinical aspects of pharmaceutical sciences. Sessions included talks from professionals such as Ms. Anubhuti Sharma (Drug Inspector, Gwalior) and Mrs. Sapna Kondalkar (Regional Ayurvedic Research Center). Additional insight into regulation, industry roles and research methodology specifically regarding Ayurveda were provided. Academic department-wide inductions included tours of laboratories and orientation on course structure, as well as interactive activities to foster early engagement towards research and practice.
School of Legal Studies — Academic Induction & Social Responsibility
The School of Legal Studies was able to hold academic induction along with experiential learning. The academic induction began with Saraswati Poojan and the welcome by the Dean. After that the school had sessions on mentor–mentee systems, departmental rules and career opportunities within the legal field. Mr. Vinod Bhardwaj (Retd. District & Sessions Judge) and other legal professionals, gave practical insights into learning and career opportunities with questions and answer sessions from a senior-student panel on how to navigate your first years in law school. There was also a legal gallery that was inaugurated, along with a tree plantation drive at Neem Sheesham Parvat to stress the importance of civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.
School of Management & Commerce – Skills, Finance & Industry Exposure
Management orientation highlighted the importance of communication, critical thinking and financial literacy. Several notable presentations included those related to effective communication by Dr. Sonia Singh Kushwah, financial literacy by CA Snigdha Nigam, and motivational input by the leaders of the university. To connect what the students were learning in the classroom with industry practice, they had the opportunity to participate in an industrial visit to the Gwalior Sahakari Dugdh Sangh Maryadit where they could observe dairy processing, quality control processes, and cooperative business practices.
School of Agricultural Sciences — Field-Based Learning & Research
The School of Agricultural Sciences gave a detailed overview of agricultural education, extension and research. Faculty and guest speakers such as Dr. U.P.S. Bhadauria, Dr. Raj Singh Kushwah, Dr. J.P. Thakur, Dr. Hirdesh Kumar and Dr. Chandan Singh set out the academic structure, where research priorities lie, and how those priorities relate to students after university in – agricultural innovation / rural development and national food security.
School of Humanities, Natural & Applied Sciences — Creativity, Context, & Careers
The Schools of Humanities and Natural & Applied Sciences delivered educational sessions that covered in detail possible career opportunities, connections with industry and interdisciplinary thinking. Invited guest lectures shared delegate details about possible opportunities in industry, humanities-led careers, and educational experiences combining various themes that involves: collaboration, interdisciplinary thinking, critical and creative thinking and teamwork (students could participate in these activities).
Student Bodies & Clubs — Technical Communities & Peer Networks
Student bodies introduced another peer-led approach to induction. The IEEE Student Branch inducted new members and set out benefits members can accrue (session delivered by Anamika Pandey) and the types of technical activities they engage as well as identifying potential funding opportunities for projects. Experiences from alumni panels, signups to clubs and workshops gave students opportunities to engage in communities that will support their technical, engineering and professional development.
Cultural & Spiritual Closing — Sundarkand Path
Deeksharambh closed with the touching Sundarkand Path— a communal spiritual recitation, facilitating a togetherness of faculty, students, and staff, welcoming positivity and blessings for the upcoming year. This closing event showcased the University’s belief in a holistic education, supporting intellectual growth paired with cultural and spiritual grounding.
Conclusion
Deeksharambh 2025 was not simply an orientation programme but a landmark experience in the academic journey of Vikrant University’s new members. Through a combination of academic responsibility, industry exposure, cultural values, and spiritual engagement, the programme created a niche for students to begin their higher education journey with confidence, clarity, and enthusiasm. It was the beginning for the embedded journey of learning, innovation, service, and belonging — the essence of the Vikrant University family.
