Introduction
Vikrant University, Gwalior has made a progressive move towards advancing agriculture education and technology, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kisan Munafa, an agri-tech organization within this sector. The signing of the MoU was completed on November 6 and marks the launch of a strong partnership to connect learning of academia with practical innovation in the agricultural space.
A Vision for Practical Learning and Innovation
This collaboration was created for a simple purpose of providing students with practical experience, advancing research in agricultural technology, and enabling partnerships between industry and education sector. Rather than just providing students with principles of agriculture, this MoU will allow students to understand how technology, data and innovation are utilized in agriculture in the present-day. Both institutions agree that agriculture today requires intelligent solutions enabled by technology, analytics, sustainability and entrepreneurship. This MoU will help to provide space for this to take place for students and researchers.
How the Collaboration Will Work
As per this agreement, Kisan Munafa will provide internship opportunities for students from Vikrant University in relevant fields, gaining a unique perspective and hands-on experience in real time agricultural situations at no cost to the university or students. Kisan Munafa will also provide mentorship support to the university in agricultural device design and development, research projects, and innovation models through independent technical consulting and professorial mentorship.
Additionally, this intent will give access to Kisan Munafa cloud infrastructure and data systems. This will further enable students and researchers to work with real agricultural data systems, add analytics to research activities, and support data-driven decision-making in agriculture. Vikrant University will identify eligible students, faculty, add ag-tech tools, and incorporate agricultural research based assignments to curriculum.
Joint Commitment to Progress and Youth Empowerment
Everyone conveyed their enthusiasm for the enormous prospects afforded by this partnership noting this initiative is much larger than the curriculum and it is assisting in the creation of a generation of future-ready agri-tech professionals and entrepreneurs. A joint commitment to collective action—for the future of agriculture, for sustainability, and for something bigger than themselves, they will help inspire students to develop solutions to real issues impacting farmers and the agricultural community.
Looking Forward
This Memorandum of Understanding is expected to facilitate smart agriculture, technology-enabled entrepreneurship, and sustainable agricultural practices that will be beneficial to farm operations. This represents another achievement in Vikrant University’s commitment to align education with the needs of emerging industries, while simultaneously contributing to India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat objectives.
With this partnership, Vikrant University continues to reinforce their commitment to allowing innovation, research, and social change—empowering students toward learning, leading, and transforming agriculture.
