The Aadhaar Cards issued by UIDAI is now a universal identification document for all residents of India, and is often used as proof for identifying a person when completing banking transaction services, obtaining welfare benefits from government Programs, authenticating as a digital identity, obtaining educational institute information. Digital Governance continues to enlarge and the role of Aadhaar Cards will continue to grow in order to provide a streamline process for obtaining public service and improving accountability!

Aadhaar Awareness Program at Vikrant University
The Aadhaar Awareness Program held at Vikrant University was conducted to promote the awareness of digital technology within the University and also to provide support to the local community; as well as to inform faculty; staff and students of the importance of using their Aadhaar registration number to access UIDAI services. At the Awareness Programme, representatives from UIDAI also outlined the process of obtaining an Aadhaar number and how to complete demographic updates, biometric updates, and download an electronic copy of the Aadhaar number. Additionally, the representatives provided information to the participants regarding how to protect their Aadhaar information and how to access UIDAI services from official websites.
Aadhaar Camps Organized on Campus
The Awareness Programme was complemented by an Aadhaar Camp located on the University campus. The Camp provided the opportunity for students and staff to access the following services:
● Register for a new Aadhaar card
● Update personal information, such as the address and mobile number
● Update biometric information
● Receive guidance on how to download and verify their Aadhaar online
Accessing these services at the Community Centre provided convenience for students who may not have been able to visit a local enrollment centre otherwise, resulting in significant time savings.
Promoting Digital Awareness and Citizen Services
Vikrant University has shown its commitment to digital literacy, community service, and citizen empowerment through various initiatives that include Aadhaar awareness campaigns and hosting camps at the university for providing Aadhaar enrollment assistance. These types of activities are beneficial for educating students on how they can take advantage of important government services and provide support to national digital initiatives; therefore, they will not only assist students in becoming aware of these types of important services but also reinforce Vikrant's role in furthering the university's ability to support national digital initiatives.
