Nurturing a business mindset
The department of Electrical and electronics engineering organised an entrepreneurship awareness programme which was held in association with MSME development office .This event reflects the university's commitment to provide students with practical knowledge, and create an opportunity for them to be more self-reliant job creators instead of becoming unemployed job seekers.
Understanding Government Support for Start-ups
The programme began with an informational session lead by Mr Alok Kumar Goswami, Assistant Director of the MSME-DFO Branch, Gwalior who is responsible for entering into both government supported and private sector supported entrepreneurial schemes. During his presentation he provided an overview of numerous entrepreneurial support schemes available within the Government of India.
The students gained an understanding of how to apply for different types of entrepreneurial support programmes, and how to use the various resources to further develop their ideas into viable businesses. His practical examples provided a good connection between government supported schemes and starting a business.
Insights into Entrepreneurship and Business Development
The second session was supervised by Mr. A. K. Sharma, the former Director of Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institutes.
He shared his views on entrepreneurship, innovation and business based on his expertise
He further explained the service-based business model compared to the product-based business model and talked about the business growth right from idea generation to resource development. The session of his enabled the students to think strategically and understand the real-life aspect of creating and sustaining an enterprise.
Role of Management in Entrepreneurial Success
The final session was conducted by Dr. Rahul Kushwah who is the Head and Associate Professor, Vikrant University. The successful entrepreneur is one who effectively plans, organizes, and decides as per the management principles.
His discussion helped students to understand how great managerial skills can convert ideas into sustainable and scalable ventures.
An Interactive and Enriching Experience
The students actively participated in the program with great enthusiasm. A lot of student interaction with experts was witnessed during the sessions. Moreover, the students were provided with practical knowledge regarding entrepreneurship.
All in all, the Entrepreneurship Awareness Program was a learning experience for the students that empowered them with the knowledge, confidence and inspiration.
Encouraging Future Leaders and Innovators
Through this initiative, the university is consistently promoting creativity, innovation and leadership qualities within the students. The program broadened their entrepreneurial perspectives and instilled confidence in them to take steps towards building their own start-ups and contribute to the country’s economy.
